Telling Lies

Dear All

Lara's choice of topic was really interesting. I was surprised to learn that we begin to lie at the age of 3 and that our parents can be responsible for that as well. OMG, I think I'll be more careful when telling my children a couple of 'white lies' in the future. I think Lara did pretty well though she seemed to be a little nervous. Other than that, that was a very good presentation.

Cheers

An awesome theme to talk about! Is something that occurs to everybody! I didn't know that people lie 3 times in 10 minutes! Outstanding!

  2. Hi Matheus

Yes, outstanding indeed. I also got surprised, let alone shocked, at this fact as well.

  3. Lara brought us an excellent theme, as well now we are quite able to recognise when peol=ple are lying at us. Don't they move their hands a little more? I quite agree with Adriano when he said that she was a bit nervous, as well. But it's okay - she was the firs presenter, so let's forgive her!

  4. Hi Rodrigo

Thanks for you comments. Of course body language can be one thing to be attentive to. I've read that you can tell somebody is lying by their eyes movement. Isn't it something?

Lara's presentation was really great. I didn't know that we start lying when we're about 3 years old! I found it very interesting that we learn to lie with our parents and later they get angry when we say something that isn't true, isn't it ironic?

  6. i thought that Lara's presentation was really interesting! Because is a topic that encompasses everyone and is a subject that everybody has any doubts. So, even if she looked kind of nervous, it was terrific!

Another good presentation by Gabi. Her choice of topic was somehow interesting as well. I don't know about you, but I'd really prefer the first Coca bottle. As for Gabi's performance, I think she was a little nervous yet very sure of what she was talking about. Well done.

    Cheers

  8. The Lara's presentation was interesting! I didn't know about lies and with her, I learnt that people starts lying about 3 years old! And everybody lies...
About the Gabi's presentation, I think coke is a good theme, and I've already known that coke was a headache medicine...I think she was a little nervous but I like her presentation.

  9. Lara's topic was amazing. I had no idea people started lying at that age. I had thought about the parents responsability and I'm glad it was proved. I also didn't know that people lied that much, impressive...
Gabi's topic was really good. I didn't know anything about coke, only that it would be green without die. I found out some amazing stuff, like more than 1.000.000.000 people consume coke a day, and I'm glad I did, really interesting.
They were both a bit nervous but they did a fantastic job.

Gabi´s presentation was very nice too. I did´t know that coke would be green without dyes! It would be really strange!

  11. I think Lara's presentation was great. She was a bit nervous but she chose a good topic. I didn't know that we lie since we were 3...

About Gabi, I think Coke is a great issue too and I didn't know that Coke would be green if they didn't put dyes...

    Sara =)
I also learned a great new vocabulary with their presentations. Congratulations!

  13. Dear All

Thanks for your comments so far and I'd like to say that I'm very pleased with your participation and all. keep up with the very good work, will you? Definitely looking forward to other presentations.

Now, on being anxious: I always have butterflies in my stomach when I do presentations myself. I have sort of learnt how to cope with that, I can tell you. So, don't you fret.

I definitely agree with Leticia when she says that would be kind of weird to drink 'green' coke. Also, Sara's comments on learning new vocabulary is extremely important.

  14. Hi there

Sara's presentation about our brain was really interesting and enlightening. I found that bit about women's need to have a better breakfast to use their brain more effectively amazing.

Well done, Sara. I'd appreciate it if you could post the link to the text? Thanks.

    Cheers

  16. Hi there

Is the end of days really near? I'm afraid I don't know, however, what Nanda talked about is really thought-provoking, don't you think? As the saying goes 'what goes around comes around', I believe we've been doing it to our Mother Nature for some time now and this is what we might get in the end.

  17. Dear All

I fully agree with Raissa whe she says that 'life without emotions would be a bore'. I tend to bottle things up and now I see this does me no good. How do you all cope with this?

    Cheers

  18. The presentation about fear was awesome. We got a lot of weard phobias! And about Fernanda presentation, I really think that's 2012 is the end of the world. Cause humans don't have consciousness of what they are doing to the nature.
    So that's it.

  20. I like all the presentations of the class because all of them addressed an important topic of today we should be aware. In my opinion the best was the Paulo's presentation, who addressed the issue of high prices on products we need and use. This is a very important matter for us. The Dalber's presentation was interesting too, because talk about the prejudices that we all suffer today.

    Cheers

  21. I liked the presentation of Nathy and Amanda because even today many people don't like rock. That is actually composed of letters that speak of beautiful themes of resilience and faith. And I really like to know more about the Rock in Rio I'd like to go one day.
João Vitor and Henrique bring to us a special theme that it's video games. Almost all the teenagers like this kind of games and know all the history of it was very fun. I full agree that many people are addicted to these games what they are doing particularly teenagers obese and sedentary.
Arthur and Tobias talked about Olympics games. This event will happen this year and London and we are very optimistic about the participation of Brazil. And who knows that in 2016 some friend of us will compete in the Olympics games. Come on Brazil.
Like Isa and Marcela told the obesity becomes a problem not only in USA but here in Brazil too. The practice of exercises becomes almost an extinction. And the healthy isn't good anymore. Eat healthy food, practice exercises and take care about your healthy is essential for a good life.
The teenagers are drinking so much. The problem maybe is the government who tried to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors which didn't work, because today is increasingly easy to buy. Or the problem is parents who don't give good example for their children. The point is that these drinks cause serious damage to health and the early use of it makes this much larger problem like Anas said.
